Campus SummaryTOP

East Stroudsburg University is one of the fourteen institutions in the Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education. Founded in 1893 as a Normal School to prepare teachers, ESU is now a comprehensive public university with a mission to provide high quality programs in both traditional and emerging fields of study which recognize and promote human and intellectual diversity, and to prepare graduates to enter a complex, changing global society with competence and confidence.

The campus is located in the Borough of East Stroudsburg, in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. Because of the University's location, students take advantage of the region's many scenic, historic, and recreational sites such as the Appalachian Trail, Bushkill Falls, and the outstanding Pocono ski resorts. Located about 75 miles west of New York City, 85 miles northeast of Philadelphia, 40 miles southeast of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, and 40 miles northeast of the Lehigh Valley, the campus provides easy access to major metropolitan areas while maintaining a small-town feel.

Unique/Special ProgramsTOP

Of the more than 60 undergraduate degree programs available at ESU, several are either unique or are offered by only a handful of other US colleges and universities. Among these are: BS in Computer Security; BS in Industrial Physics; BS in Biotechnology; and BS in Chemical Biotechnology.

ALERT: An institution's inclusion in these searches does NOT imply approval of the institution or its programs by the U.S. Department of Education.
