PLTS sits on the crest of the Berkeley hills overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay, California. Inland we are surrounded by the Tilden Regional Park system creating a retreat-like setting on the edge of a major metropolitan area.

PLTS is an ecumenical graduate school rooted in the Lutheran tradition. PLTS trains religious leaders of various religious communities to serve in diverse religious and multicultural contexts within the United States and the world.

People of all faiths find themselves at home here, a school with 50 years experience in spiritual formation and graduate level and doctoral studies

PLTS offers a one of a kind learning context: A small community feeling with 14 full time faculty with around 200 students, and as part of the Graduate Theological Union we offer access to nine seminaries and some 1300 faculty, graduate courses at UC-Berkeley, the largest theological library in the western United States, and practical training in one of the most diverse areas of the USA.
