Campus SummaryTOP

Founded in 1883 as a Lutheran Proseminary, Wagner College is an independent coeducational four-year residential liberal arts college. The campus is located atop a hill overlooking New York Harbor, The Statue of Liberty, and Manhattan. Wagner students take full advantage of the college’s proximity to Manhattan, the nation’s premiere culture and professional center.

Unique/Special ProgramsTOP

The Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts combines the educational value of learning communities with the practical value of experiential learning. All students at Wagner are required to enroll in three learning communities throughout their four years of undergraduate study: one in the freshman year, one in either the sophomore or junior year and one in the senior year. The freshman and senior year learning communities are linked to field experience related to the coursework. The many and varied field experiences available to our students throughout the New York City area create incredible opportunities for our students to “learn by doing.”
